<p>Everyone knows when you boot the PC up, you&rsquo;re most likely just on it to either do work, browse the web or maybe play some games.</p>
<p>In case you didn&rsquo;t already know, recently Microsoft had officially retired the Internet Explorer after almost 30 years of service.</p>

<p>Currently, most computers come with Microsoft Edge which replaced Internet Explorer. Plus, most of us who ever had internet explorer were likely to only have downloaded another web browser to use *cough* Google Chrome *cough*.</p>
<p>But unlike many people out there, the Internet Explorer browser served an important role in one&rsquo;s career. Software engineer Jung Ki-young from South Korea says that the departure of the browser had moved him so much. To remember the browser, he actually ordered a tombstone for it.</p>

<p>Some may have thought it would be a joke saying that someone got a tomb stone for the most love-hated browser out there. But Jung took it to the next level as he spent ₩430,000 (~RM1,467) for an actual tombstone which has the Internet Explorer name and logo.</p>
<p>As extra as it already is, inscribed was the birthday 17/8/1995 and its death date 15/6/2022 with the tombstone saying, &ldquo;He was a good tool to download other browsers&rdquo;.</p>

<p>The tombstone was placed at a caf&eacute; in Gyeongju which is operated by his brother. In a report by Reuters, Jung didn&rsquo;t actually have the best of relationships with the browser despite actually making a proper tomb stone for it.</p>
<p>Jung&rsquo;s mixed feelings portrayed how big the browser had played a role I his working life as a software engineer. When doing his job, he had to ensure websites and apps had to work well with Internet Explorer.</p>
<p>And guess what, most of his work just tyring to get it to work on the browser took up majority of his time due to how slow it was. In the las few years, even with modernization, his clients still required him to ensure their stuff are still compatible with internet Explorer as it&rsquo;s still the default browser in the South Korean government offices and banks.</p>
<p>"It was a pain in the ass, but I would call it a love-hate relationship because Explorer itself once dominated an era," said Jung.</p>

<p>Internet Explorer was dubbed as the worlds leading browser since it was pre-installed in all of Microsoft&rsquo;s computers. Fast forwarding to the late 2000s, it started losing out to other web browsers such as Firefox and the most well known and used browser today, Google Chrome. <br /><br /></p>
<p>It was also no stranger to being a meme online due to show slow it was, and Jung too was surprised about how far his tombstone joke went online as he only meant to give people a laugh.</p>
<p>"That's another reason for me to thank the Explorer, it has now allowed me to make a world-class joke," he said.</p>
<p>"I regret that it's gone but won't miss it. So, its retirement, to me, is a good death."</p>

#RIP Tombstone For Internet Explorer Becomes 'World-Class Joke'

<p>When living in the busy city, we can&rsquo;t help to think that we need more greenery within the city. When you look at most major cities, there&rsquo;s at least either one large section of green such as Central Park in New York City or even a park within the city such as the Lake Gardens Park or Taman Tugu right here in KL.</p>

<p>If you&rsquo;re one to go outdoors a lot or perhaps go to Bangsar often, you may have seen a place called Kebun-Kebun Bangsar which is a community garden within the city. It&rsquo;s situated along Lorong Bukit Pantai, Bangsar, where there&rsquo;s Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) electric pylons.</p>
<p>In fact, Kebun-Kebun Bangsar is violating their temporary occupancy license (TOL) for their nursery purpose as they had just been slapped with an eviction notice by the Federal Territory office of the department of the director-general of lands and mines (JKPTG).</p>

<p>The post was shared via their Instagram page where the notice was dated 23 June 2022 where they are in violation of Section 425 (1) of the National Land Code for using land located underneath high-voltage power lines owned and maintained by TNB without permission.</p>
<p>The violation states that they can be fined RM500,000 and jailed for five years if they fail to comply and remove all structures on the property. Additionally, the office states that they will not be entertaining any appeals after sending out the notice.</p>
<p><strong>Violation of terms of license</strong></p>
<p>Malay Mail reported that the office stands by the decision to evict the garden after violating the TOL. According to Datuk Muhammad Yasir from JKPTG, the office does encourage the gardening efforts but they are still required to abide by stipulated conditions.</p>
<p>&ldquo;Conditions for approved nurseries include the types of crops and no permanent structures are allowed under power lines, according to technical specifications from Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB),&rdquo; said Yasir.</p>
<p>The eviction notice also comes by written and verbal complaints submitted by the residents of the area due to the garden rearing live stock within the property. The Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) had ordered the garden to remove the animals back in 2020 as the chickens, ducks and sheep within the property had caused the to be full of flies, noise disturbances from the animals as well as odour pollution within the housing area.</p>
<p><strong>Hopes for Kebun-Kebun Bangsar to continue on running</strong></p>

<p>62-year-old Ng Sek San who founded the community garden had thanked all of those who helped maintained the garden which was backed by the DBKL on a two-year license. &nbsp;However, he failed to realise that the city did not extend their license beyond 2018 and only came to know about it when they received the eviction notice.</p>
<p>Although several letters of appeal were submitted to the relevant authorities, there had been no avail. Even 19 out of 20 of the residents who live adjacent to the garden had supported them.</p>
<p>&ldquo;Every week, thousands come to our farm to acquaint themselves with nature. We want to be left alone to do our work peacefully. It must be protected and safeguarded by everyone, including City Hall and the other authorities.&rdquo; he said.</p>
<p><strong>Farm praised by Prime Minister</strong></p>
<p>Just recently before the eviction notice, Prime Minister Dato&rsquo; Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob had praised the farm as fruits, vegetable and flowers have been harvested from the land and been distributed to those in need within the community as well as soup kitchens.</p>

<p>Additionally, the garden within the city had played a role to educate society on the effects of climate change.</p>
<p>Following the eviction threat, Ng fears that future volunteers will be driven away and it will be harder to maintain the garden if they are able to continue so.</p>
<p><span style="color: #ff0707;"><em>It&rsquo;s hard to come by good things in life and sometimes I question, why can&rsquo;t authorities give a bit of slack and also talk it out with those occupying the land. At least they didn&rsquo;t build a full-on building on the property as a garden which helps supply the community is much more beneficial. </em></span></p>

<p>Due to Malaysia&rsquo;s unstable economy, Malaysians of all ages have been looking out for jobs all over and some jobs were advertised online stating that it has high pay and great benefits. The victims then get attracted to and when they meet up with their new &ldquo;employer&rdquo; they get smuggled to countries such as Cambodia or Myanmar. From there, they are forced to conduct scam operations mainly targeting Chinese speaking individuals or foreigners.</p>
<p><strong>Job syndicate arrested by authorities</strong></p>

<p>With the authorities cracking down on these cases, it looks like these syndicates are slowly getting caught. One such recruiter who allegedly works with the syndicates has been arrested recently. PCA Public services and Complaints Department head, Datuk Seri Michael Chong had identified the man as &ldquo;Danny&rdquo; and he is an Indian-American who can speak fluent mandarin.</p>
<p>Danny frequently operates via social media luring the victims with ads of high paying jobs available abroad. After convincing the victim to apply for the job, he would personally meet the victims and picked them up in person before smuggling them through clandestine routes out of Malaysia to go Myanmar and Cambodia.</p>
<p>Victims were also held under ransom while they perform their job and negotiation between the syndicate and family are talked upon as many want their loved ones back home.</p>
<p><strong>Victims participate in scam operations under tight watch</strong></p>
<p>The victims later learn about the truth of the jobs they were getting into as members of the syndicates kept them under watchful eyes with armed guards 24/7 to ensure that they don&rsquo;t go against their jobs.</p>
<p>The victims were all kept within a compound on multiple floors where it&rsquo;s said to have over 300 people and many of them also included Malaysians.</p>

<p>In a report earlier this week, Danny is identified as the same recruiter who had duped two teenagers from Pahang to take up a &ldquo;customer service position&rdquo; before they were smuggled to perform a love scam operation in Myanmar.</p>
<p>As of now, Datuk Seri Michael Cheong says that their department currently has as many as 74 complains regarding job scams but so far, only 23 people have been rescued. Authorities are currently in the right direction towards rescuing victims as operations are still currently ongoing.</p>

<p>But the one thing many Malaysians love is the convenience of how we have Touch &lsquo;n Go to pay for parking cause it&rsquo;s super convenient. Many of us now live in the era of cashless transactions and sometimes we don&rsquo;t even bring cash around with us anymore.</p>

<p>Off the get go, it&rsquo;s impressive that a non-Chinese person can confidently and fluently talk the language but as you can see in the video, even the uncle at the stall was also left in a state of shock when trying to communicate with him. <em>The man was too stunned to speak.</em></p>
<p>One possible reason why most of us wouldn&rsquo;t understand the language is due to the Grab driver speaking in a local dialect which only Sarawakians can understand or is because he really isn&rsquo;t talking in a mandarin?</p>

<p>In Malaysia, Chinese languages vary from Mandarin to other dialects such as Cantonese, Hakka and Hokkien. These dialects may also further vary upon the state you live in and family upbringings. At the moment, there is around 22.4% of Chinese ethnicity living in Malaysia but it doesn&rsquo;t specificy how many of them could speak which language / dialects as some classify themselves as a &ldquo;banana&rdquo; (unable to speak ANY Chinese language / dialect).</p>

<p>The movie was directed by Syamsul Yusof under Studio Kembara and had a RM8 million production value and it shattered records as it&rsquo;s earned RM12.2 million since it was screen on the big screens last Thursday (23 June). <p>For those who don&rsquo;t know much about Malaysian history, Mat Kilau is one of the most prominent Malay warriors who stood against British colonialism in Pahang at the end of the 19<sup>th</sup> century.</p>
<p>The British reaped the fruits of Pahang&rsquo;s land belonging to the Malays and interfered in the customs and religion of the locals. The British had also showed arrogance reign supreme in the land and Mat Kilau along side Tok Gajah (Imam Rasu) as well as other Pahang warriors such as Dato&rsquo; Bahaman and Mat Kelubi rose and fought against the colonialist.</p>
<p>Their fight had proven successful as the colonialists suffered pressure and lost.</p>
<p>In 1895, it was reported that he went &ldquo;missing&rdquo; and was allegedly killed on the Kelantan-Siam border. His &ldquo;body&rdquo; was &ldquo;buried&rdquo; in Kampung Bunut Payung, Kota Bharu, Kelantan in 1895 but it was only the beginning before he reappeared on 26 December 1969 in a mosque in Kampung Pulau Tawar, his home town.</p>

"Mat Kilau" Breaks Malaysia’s Blockbusters After Raking In RM12.2 Million Over 4 Days

<p>Throughout the years, Netflix has released a number of successful shows, and it seems like this year is just as jam packed, with new and original series being released nonstop. As on June 24 2022, the first 6 episodes for the South Korean version of the Spanish heist drama was officially released, however with an entirely different storyline.</p>

<p>&lsquo;Money Heist: Korea- Joint Economic Area&rsquo; is an original Netflix series starring actors Yoo Jitae, Park Haesoo, Jeon Jongseo, Lee Hyunwoo, Lee Wonjong and Park Myunghoon. It is set in the same fictional universe as the original Spanish version, however it depicts a completely different narrative, making the series more of a crossover rather than a remake of the popular Spanish drama.</p>
<p>The first title announcement was first released in January 18 2022, with a thrilling video of the criminal mastermind, also known as &ldquo;The Professor&rdquo;, choosing between a variety of disguising masks, in which soon we discover that he will end up choosing the eye-catching Hahoe masks, a representative mask that all Korean citizens know, making it the ultimate mask suited for the project.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Many familiar aspects to the original &lsquo;Money Heist&rsquo; can still be found in the Korean series, as the main plotline still involves a mysterious criminal who recruits a group of thieves to help him rob a bank, however this time, it involves a hostage crisis situation happening in the now unified Korean Peninsula in the year of 2025, specifically in the Mint which is located in the Joint Economic Area (JEA), a &nbsp;common ground for both Korean jurisdictions.</p>
<p>Of course the series also maintained its original &lsquo;Money Heist&rsquo; characters, even going as far as maintaining some of their original physical and personality traits, however there are major evident alterations in the characters&rsquo; backgrounds in order to become more Koreanized.</p>

<p><span style="color: #e03e2d;">Yes, you read that right. </span>If you are a big fan of the series, or maybe even wondered how it feels like to be a part of a heist just like the one in the show, well now is your chance to actually experience it in real life.</p>
<p>Guests will then be welcomed into the building with an interactive character display and a suitcase filled with the classic red jumpsuit along its signature mask, in which then you will be briefed and taken through three different rooms, where you will be racing against time (30 minutes) to solve a treasure hunt, hack into the JEA system and solve hard puzzles to complete the game. Upon finishing the hunt, visitors will then gain access to the final vault room, which contains a large bed with abundant cash.</p>
