Do you ever have those moments at night where you crave for something to eat, and you find yourself heading over the nearest Ramly burger stall? Me all the time, especially after gaming.

One thing for sure is that the name Ramly burger is very well known among Malaysians as many of us grew up having em. It&rsquo;s widely available too as every supermarket you go to will have a variety of their selection of burger meats, oblongs, frankfurters, nuggets and even seafood.
But one thing is, have you ever noticed that Ramly has their own fast-food outlets known as Ramly Halal Kiosks?

I&rsquo;ve actually noticed their Halal Mart in Shah Alam but I didn&rsquo;t know that they had more than just that.
In fact, these fast-food outlets have been around for a while now, but it&rsquo;s gone almost unnoticeable to the public.
What does the Ramly Halal Kiosks Sell?
Aside from stating the obvious (their burgers), they actually serve a variety of food such as western menus like fish &amp; chips, grilled chicken, lamb chops and more!
Not a fan of beef burgers perhaps? They got you covered as they too serve fish and prawn patties!

The interesting thing is that their burgers are not the typical burger stall sized burgers, but they are pretty big and juicy! Not only that, but you can also get a side of some chunky fries to go with our meal.
The Ramly Halal Kiosks is pretty famous for their Nasi Serai dish.

Customers have the option to pair them with many different side dishes consisting of roast or grill chicken, beef, lamb and even sambal sotong. Or maybe you can try their lamb chop which has a pretty generous serving.

Perhaps you&rsquo;d like something to just munch on? They got you covered as they have a selection of mix and match foods such as nuggets, cheesy wedges, keropok lekor, crinkle cut fries and fried chicken.

Currently, there are two versions which are mart-like (Ramly Halal Mart) and also restaurant-like (Ramly Halal Kiosk). But worry not, both outlets do sell the retail products and fast-food dishes.
According to some, the menus are present at some outlets, and some are not.

Not many Malaysians are fortunate enough to own a car and some also may differ saying that using public transport is better and more cost efficient and it&rsquo;s more convenient. Although that the statement is true, many now debate whether owning a car is actually better than using public transport as the prices of e-hailing fares have surged up the ceiling.

Many of us need to still use Grab specifically when going home or to work as most stations (such as busses or even trains) don&rsquo;t directly access the housing area you might be living in.
Transport Minister Datuk Dr. Wee Ka Siong has now called upon platforms to give an explanation and clarification of the alleged price increase as high as 400% during peak hours after many have complained about expensive fares they have to pay recently.

&ldquo;An increase from RM20 to RM70 in the current situation is seen as burdensome to the people, so I think as a policymaker, we will see if any party is taking advantage to make a profit&rdquo; said Dr. Wee after visiting Ampang Park LRT on Sunday 22nd May.
He&rsquo;s requested for the Land Public Agency (APAD) to review and the issue and ask the companies to explain the price hike situation with expectations for an answer to come up in the next day or two.
APAD says that one of the few factors effecting the price is the working environment of drivers, passengers, service providers and others must be taken into count. This is to ensure the balance of supply and demand in e-hailing as both the service provider and user must have a mutual agreement for bookings via their apps while showing the fare amount.

If it isn&rsquo;t bad enough, the price hike is also affecting food delivery services. Customers even have the option for a premium queue order where it gets you the food faster, but it seems that many are ending up waiting just as long if not longer for food during peak hours.
For example, Food deliveries around the Kelana Jaya area to those residents in SS7 went up from RM2/ RM3 during off peak hours and RM5 delivery during peak to RM4.50/ RM5 during off peak and up to almost RM9 during peak hours.
With the reopening of economic sectors, services have seen a drop of approximately 25% in riders and at least a 10% of delivery food demand dropped as well.

Since prices are sky rocketing, many people are resorting to using Taxi&rsquo;s again as they offer more affordable prices. In fact, taxi passengers had increased by 40% lately said Combined Taxi Across Malaysia president Kamadurin Mohd Hussain.
Another reason towards the price hike of e-hailing services is due to the government not introducing controlled fares that taxi&rsquo;s have. During rush hour, due to competition, they take advantage to raise the prices due to high demand and as most of us are busy and want to get things done quick, we will automatically just take it.
Kamarudin suggests that the fairs of e-hailing services till still increase and it&rsquo;s almost impossible for it to go out of control if the number of taxi&rsquo;s decrease.
Fares on taxi&rsquo;s work differently as they start at RM3 and passengers will be charged RM0.10 for every 115m travelled.

Unfortunately, there has been an outbreak of the monkeypox virus in several countries in Europe and North America as it made headlines globally. Many had become worried as monkeypox had originally originated from countries with tropical rainforests and rural areas of Central and West Africa.

Director-General of Health, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah and scientist alike were baffled at the incident, but they had issued a statement informing others to not worry as the transmission of the virus is limited.
If one were to get infected from the virus, it won&rsquo;t have effects as bad as Covid-19 and most people typically recovers in 3 weeks or less.
What is Monkeypox and how is it transmitted?

As the name says it, this disease was actually first identified in monkeys and was first discovered in 1958 by the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). It all started when two outbreaks of a pox-like disease occurred in a monkey colonies which were kept for research purposes.
Although discovered in 1958, it wasn&rsquo;t till 1970 till the first human monkeypox case had happened in the Domocratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) as they were in an intensive period of attempting to eliminate smallpox.

Till this day, the host carrier of the monkeypox disease is still unknown but it&rsquo;s suspected that it may have came from African rodents.
The way the virus is transmitted is via humans through a few methods such as close contact with lesions, body fluids, respiratory droplets and contaminated materials such as bedding.
CDC says that the virus enters our bodies via broken skin, respiratory tract as well as mucous membranes (ears, nose and mouth).
Signs of monkeypox

Similar to smallpox, the symptoms are essentially the same but much milder. It starts up with a fever, headache, chills, muscle aches and also exhaustion.
The surface of your skin will also show signs of rashes which can spread around the body. If you see lymph nodes (bumps on your skin), don&rsquo;t be surprised as monkeypox can cause this.
The main steps of prevention for monkeypox is to have good personal hygiene and with that, you&rsquo;ll have a lower chance of getting infected.
Monkeypox is less contagious than

Thankfully of us, the outbreak in several countries have been reposting that the spread is slow, and the virus is less contagious compared to Covid-19.
The rise in cases however is a direct correlation towards the east of Covid-19 restrictions now.
Also, just for reassurance&rsquo;s sake, there&rsquo;s already a vaccine for it and it&rsquo;s proven to be effective. The vaccine however had been discontinued in the 1970s after the eradication of the smallpox virus. The main concern now is those below the age of 50 are likely those at risk since they had not received the vaccine due to it not being widely available.
WHO also stated that the current chickenpox vaccine should have 85% effectiveness against monkeypox.

Yes, monkeypox is something that we all have to be aware off, since it&rsquo;s closely elated to smallpox, the vaccine from it can help protect us. Another thing us Malaysians should also remember and make sure is to ensure you practice good hygiene and you should (hopefully) be fine.

"Don't Panic!" Health DG Advices Malaysians Over Monkeypox Outbreak 

Hari Raya should be a time where everyone enjoys the festive season surrounded by people you love and also, good food!
It&rsquo;s not uncommon that people host banquets and open houses throughout the month, and it can be in offices, homes and sometimes schools. During those events, VIPs or even VVIPs are invited and treated to a variety of food.

With that being said, a banquet event that was held at a school had caught the attention of many for the wrong reason and became the talk of social media.

Facebook user Mohd Fadli Salleh shared the incident online and it managed to gain 32K Likes, 2K reactions, 4K comments and 6.5K shares across the platform.
Unfair treatment towards the kids

When eating a &ldquo;banquet&rdquo; style meal, logically speaking everyone should be provided a table but unfortunately during this event, the kids who attended it were sitting on the floor while the VIP/ VVIPs were sitting under a tent with the chairs and tables nicely decorated.
Although the floor was mopped, it was still deemed inappropriate for the event. Another issue was that the food is too close to the floor and shoes which are covered in bacteria, viruses, germs and parasites. Not to mention, Malaysia is currently having an issue for Hand Food Mouth Disease (HFMD).
Aside from that, everyone had to wait for the VIPs to start the ceremony before the children were allowed to eat. The orphans also had to wait in long lines before they were able to eat.
Netizens outraged over the situation

Many talked about the contrast of students having to sit cross-legged on the floor. In fact, if one were to sit on the floor, logically people would also put a mat to ensure it&rsquo;s free from touching the dirty surface.
Some even said that parents are being too demanding over this situation but in this context, Fadli voiced out stating that it&rsquo;s the matter of manners, decency and self-worth.
Ironically enough, this issue happens almost every Ramadhan. Usually during these events, people want to celebrate the festive season with orphans and those under privileged as they too should be able to celebrate like everyone else.

Fadli ended his social media post with a note that the culture of having banquets at schools and only celebrating the VVIPs should stop. Additionally, schools should put the effort in making the banquet more enjoyable for the students instead of neglecting them.
Hopefully in the future, organizers of such events will take this more seriously. In fact, no need for VVIP invites as the whole purpose is to celebrate the children.

La Risata Bar Pizzeria Ristorante is an Italian restaurant located in Ampang and if you&rsquo;re looking for a night out with good company, the restaurant certainly hits the spot!

The Pastabilities Are Endless At La Risata, Ampang!

Looks like the aviation industry is set to have a change but in a good way.
Malaysia Airlines (MAS) and Singapore Airlines (SIA) have both been granted conditional approval for a partnership which aims to grow traffic between Malaysia, Singapore and other markers said the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCCS).

The two airlines had initially signed the agreement back in October 2019 as they were set to work together in areas such as joint sales and marketing including revenue sharing.
Join venture = More destinations
Both MAS and SIA aim to grow traffic between the two countries as well as new market opportunities in Europe. With that being done, the airlines can sell seats on each other&rsquo;s flights to provide passengers with a wider variety of destinations around the world.

The partnerships conditional approval given by the CCCS was accepted after the two airlines accepted a set of proposed commitments. It had also conducted public consultation during its assessment.
The CCCS says that the arrangement of both airlines will need to be further reviewed with a series of indicator signals sustained recovery and normality of aviation activity on overlapping direct routes such as flights between Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Kuching.

Due to the pandemic which saw the borders being closed for almost 2 years, competition on the overlapping direct routes is limited even without arrangements between both airlines.
The concerned raised by third parties had also been taken into note and consideration and the airlines would assess it as well as it&rsquo;s competition impact and benefits of the arrangement when the aviation sector recovers from the pandemic.

The two airlines used to be known as Malaysian Airways or Malaysia Singapore Airways before the two split into their own independent and sovereign state in 1965.

As some know, SIA&rsquo;s subsidiary Scoot also offers routes to many countries at a low price similarly to Malaysia Airlines&rsquo; sister airline, Firefly.
So far there&rsquo;s no say on job opportunities but as the aviation industry recovers, I&rsquo;m sure many would hope for it to happen.
As most countries transition to the endemic phase of things, there&rsquo;s high hopes for the aviation industry restart again as airlines hope to see more weekly flights to many destinations again.
